Di Marshall founded what would become Wonki Ware over a decade ago, when she decided to dedicate her afternoons—while her children were in school—to her pottery studio. Interested in her work, a young man from her community began training alongside her—and soon displayed a facility for the craft. Marshall and her small but growing team slowly expanded, taking orders from across South Africa and then from around the world. She now employs and trains 40-plus skilled staff members from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
